The Moen Lake Chain Association annual meeting took place at the Pine Valley Lodge on Moen Lake Saturday July 10, 2010. Walt Gager, Association President, opened the meeting and moderated the speakers with his usual humor and efficiency.

Bonnie Montgomery presented the minutes from last years meeting and El Felton laid out the Association financial picture.

Congratulations are in order for the associations newly elected officers.

The Clean Sweep program started the day with association members bringing in examples of natural life just off their home shores for identification and cataloging.

Members checked in, grabbed a cup of coffee and a donut and found their place to participate in the meeting.

Beyond the administrative reporting were brief reports from all of the committee chairs. Members had the opportunity for open discussion after each presentation. Great ideas were shared. Requests made for active participation in everything from monitoring boat launch operations to web site support and long range planning.

Victoria Houston, right, was our guest speaker. Victoria is an acclaimed mystery author focusing on the great Northwoods as the backdrop for her works. She, too, is a Moen Lake Chain Association member.
