The Water Quality Committee consists of volunteers who monitor water clarity with a black and white Secchi disk. Some also collect water samples, which are sent to the State Lab of Hygiene to be analyzed. The volunteers and the State Lab of Hygiene enter this information into the Wisconsin DNR’s database.

Additional monitoring has been done through projects funded in part by DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Grants. Reports and graphs featuring data collected by volunteers, DNR staff and others can be viewed below.

Wisconsin DNR water quality reports and data

Volunteers are the source of the majority of Wisconsin's lake water quality data, and their dedication is greatly appreciated. On the Moen Lakes Chain these volunteers currently include:

Phill and Barb Cyr – Moen Lake
Phill and Barb Cyr – Second and Third Lakes
Nancy Sattler – Fourth Lake
Scott Patulski & Kris Krause – Fifth Lake
